Samudera files complaint to police<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Reportedly angry at losing the top post at national
\nairline Garuda Indonesia, Samudera Sukardi, who is the elder
\nbrother of State Minister of State Enterprises Laksamana Sukardi,
\nfiled a defamation complaint against Garuda's former top director
\nAbdul Gani, at the National Police Headquarters on Monday.<\/p>\n
Although Samudera filed the report in person, he refused to
\ncomment on the matter.<\/p>\n
His lawyer Wawan Iryawan said that Samudera had filed the
\nreport based on Abdul Gani's slanderous statements about his
\nclient, which were published in a local daily early this month.<\/p>\n
\"Abdul Gani accused my client, in the Media Indonesia daily,
\nof misusing billions of rupiah. The statements were published at
\nthe same time as the appointment process to Garuda's top post was
\ntaking place,\" Wawan told reporters.<\/p>\n
\"This is slander and needs to be dealt with through the legal
\nprocess.\"<\/p>\n
The government recently installed Indra Setiawan as the new
\nboss of Garuda Indonesia, which ended weeks of speculation that
