        "content": "<p>Passenger homecoming activities via the sea route at Sampit Port,\nEast Kotawaringin District, Central Kalimantan, peaked on Sunday 15\nMarch 2026. In a single day, three passenger vessels were dispatched\nwith a total passenger count approaching 3,000 bound for several ports\non the island of Java.<\/p>\n<p>Hotman Siagian, Head of the Port Authority and Port Operations Office\n(KSOP) Class III Sampit, stated that the vessels operated routes to\nTanjung Perak Port in Surabaya and Tanjung Mas Port in Semarang.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree ships departing today serve Surabaya and Semarang routes. This\nrepresents the peak of the homecoming surge at Sampit Port during the\nEid transport period,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>One of the departing vessels was KM Leuser, operated by PT Pelni,\nheading to Surabaya with 1,392 passengers. Additionally, two vessels\noperated by PT Dharma Lautan Utama (DLU) also transported homebound\ntravellers: KM Kirana III bound for Surabaya and KM Dharma Rucitra VI\nbound for Semarang, each carrying approximately 768 and 523 passengers\nrespectively.<\/p>\n<p>According to KSOP Sampit data, the number of ship passengers during\nthis year\u2019s Eid homecoming period is estimated to have increased\napproximately 10 per cent compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the substantial passenger volume, conditions at Sampit Port\u2019s\npassenger terminal remained orderly with no significant congestion. Port\nauthorities attributed this to coordination conducted with various\nparties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have coordinated with ship operators and relevant parties to\nensure smooth passenger flow,\u201d Siagian stated.<\/p>\n<p>Shipping operators also prepared reserve tickets to accommodate\npassengers without confirmed bookings. Approximately 10 reserve tickets\nwere made available, and nine passengers from the previous evening were\nsuccessfully accommodated by the shipping operators.<\/p>\n<p>Siagian added that some passengers were workers residing in Sampit\nwho would continue their journey to West Nusa Tenggara via Surabaya.<\/p>",
