        "content": "<p>President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI),\nSaid Iqbal, has urged the House of Representatives (DPR) not to rush\ndeliberations on the Labour Bill (RUU Ketenagakerjaan).<\/p>\n<p>He made the statement during an audience with DPR Deputy Speaker\nSufmi Dasco Ahmad, DPR Deputy Speaker Cucun Ahmad Syamsuridjal, DPR\nDeputy Speaker Saan Mustopa, Chair of the Legislation Body (Baleg) Bob\nHasan, and Deputy Chair of Commission IX of the DPR regarding the Labour\nBill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully the deliberation of this Labour Bill will not be rushed,\u201d\nSaid said during the audience at the Parliament Complex, Senayan,\nCentral Jakarta, on Thursday, 13 August 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, he acknowledged that there is a deadline from the\nConstitutional Court (MK) that must be met.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the other hand, we from the labour group certainly want this law\nto be truly comprehensive,\u201d Said said.<\/p>\n<p>He also demanded that the Labour Bill not be deliberated behind\nclosed doors, as was the case with the Job Creation Law or Omnibus\nLaw.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet there be no repeat of the deliberation process like the Omnibus\nLaw on Job Creation. The Court ordered that the labour\ncluster be removed from Law Number 6 of 2023 on Job Creation and placed\nin a separate law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Constitutional Court gave a two-year deadline from the ruling,\nso the new law is expected to be completed before 31 October 2026,\u201d he\ncontinued.<\/p>\n<p>He said the academic paper and the Labour Bill draft prepared by the\nDPR\u2019s Expertise Body were submitted to Commission IX of the DPR on 22\nJune 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe draft consists of 19 chapters and 224 articles,\u201d Dasco said.<\/p>",
