Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House
of Representatives (DPR RI), Ahmad Sahroni, has stated that the search
of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) offices by the Attorney General’s
Office serves as evidence of President Prabowo Subianto’s seriousness in
the fight against corruption.

“The Attorney General’s Office is currently searching the BGN
offices; this proves that the President is not playing around with those
who intend to misuse their positions,” Sahroni said when met at the
parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

The legislator specialising in law enforcement urged the Attorney
General’s Office to promptly name suspects if sufficient evidence is
found. “They should immediately designate those committing
corruption-related crimes to clarify the issues they are facing,” he
added.

He views this raid as a manifestation of President Prabability’s
attention to legal violations, particularly as the BGN is an agency
responsible for a priority government programme. According to Sahroni,
the more swiftly action is taken against those abusing power, the
better. Consequently, he supports the Attorney General’s steps to
eradicate corruption.

“If law enforcement officials do not respond to this, it becomes even
more dangerous. The programme is good, but if the distribution is
flawed, it leads to many public complaints,” he said.

Sahroni hopes the BGN can improve its operations moving forward,
especially following President Prabowo’s replacement of the agency’s top
leadership on Tuesday (2/6) night.

Regarding the raid, the Attorney General’s Office confirmed the
search of the BGN offices located in Central Jakarta on Wednesday
morning. “That is correct,” said the Acting Head of the Legal
Information Centre of the Attorney General’s Office, Mochamad Jeffry, to
ANTARA.

He stated that the search was conducted by investigators from the
Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes. However, he did not provide
specific details regarding the raid, noting that an official release
would follow.

The search took place after President Prabowo reshuffled the BGN
leadership. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, during a press
conference at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/6) night,
announced that the Head of State had removed Dadan Hindayana from the
chairmanship. In his place, the President appointed Nanik S. Deyang, who
previously served as the Deputy Head of the BGN. Additionally, the
President appointed Agustina Arumsari as the new Deputy Head, replacing
Lodewyk Pusung, and Major General Trenggono as Deputy Head, replacing
Sony Sonjaya.
",
