Sahid wins Ciputra golf tournament<\/p>\n
SURABAYA (JP): Sahid, an amateur golfer from Malang, East
\nJava, won the Ciputra golf tournament at Ciputra Golf Club here
\non Sunday.<\/p>\n
Sahid's total tally was 286 (70-71-74-71) to beat Haryono Min
\nfrom the Surabaya Yani Golf Club who carded a 288 (68-70-76-74),
\nand Denny Supriadi (72-73-72-71).<\/p>\n
Sahid attributed his success to aggressive play by driving the
\nball down the green and concentrating on putting.<\/p>\n
\"My strategy was right and I won the tournament. This is my
\nlast time to play as an amateur. After the National Games in
\nSurabaya in 2000, I plan to become a professional,\" Sahid, 32,
\ntold The Jakarta Post on Sunday.<\/p>\n
In fourth was Suprapto of Pelatnas with 290 (75-73-72-70).
\nSuprapto's teammate Sarmilih was fifth with 291 strokes
\n(74-74-71-72).<\/p>\n
Indonesian Golf Association (PGI) chairman Sudomo closed the
\ntournament. He said that Sahid, Haryono and Denny will compete in
\nthe China Open in Guangzhou from Oct. 11 to Oct. 16. (nur\/lnt)<\/p>",
