        "content": "<p>Banyuwangi (ANTARA) \u2014 The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries\n(KKP), in collaboration with numerous parties, launched the Coastal\nResilience Initiatives programme to protect the coastal ecosystem at the\n7th Marine Combat Training Centre (Puslatpurmar) in Lampon, Banyuwangi\nRegency, East Java, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The programme, launched in the Lampon Beach area of Pesanggaran\nVillage and District, is a collaboration between the central government,\nthe East Java Provincial Government, the Banyuwangi Regency Government,\nbusiness players, the education sector and local communities.<\/p>\n<p>Amehr Hakim, Director of Marine Spatial Planning Development at the\nKKP, said the programme aligns with the ministry\u2019s blue economy policy\nprinciples.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are five pillars within it, starting with expanding\nconservation areas, measured fishing, sustainable aquaculture, the\nmanagement of coastal areas and small islands, and seas free of waste,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that beyond Banyuwangi, we can extend this further to the\nnorthern and southern coasts of East Java,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Banyuwangi Deputy Regent Mujiono added that Banyuwangi has already\npractised sustainable marine management involving local communities.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that in mid-July 2026, ASEAN and Pacific nations under the\nASEAN-ID Blue framework will come to Banyuwangi to share experiences in\nblue economy development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith collaboration among many parties, including companies such as\nPT BSI and support from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, we\nbelieve the preservation of the marine ecosystem and community welfare\nwill continue to improve,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Coastal Resilience Initiatives programme is a long-term\ninvestment to build coastal resilience through a balance between\nenvironmental conservation, community empowerment and sustainable\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n<p>The programme comprises six initiatives, including mangrove planting,\nbeach forest preservation, coral transplantation, eco-tourism\ndevelopment, increasing fishermen\u2019s incomes, and strengthening\nfishermen\u2019s institutions so they become more self-reliant.<\/p>",
