The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs has assessed that the
decision by international rating agency S&P Global Ratings to
maintain Indonesia’s credit rating is a momentum to continue
strengthening investor confidence in the national economy. “This
reflects the trust given by the rating agency to our economic
resilience. This is a momentum that we must continue to maintain,” said
Ferry Irawan, Deputy for the Coordination of State-Owned Enterprise
Management and Development at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic
Affairs, during the Risk and Governance Summit (RGS) 2026 in Jakarta on
Tuesday. According to him, S&P’s decision to maintain Indonesia’s
rating at investment grade reflects the rating agency’s confidence in
the national economy’s resilience amidst rising global uncertainty.
Ferry stated that the government will continue to strengthen governance,
transparency, and financial market deepening to maintain institutional
credibility and provide certainty for businesses and investors. “Good
governance is not merely a matter of compliance, but a foundation that
strengthens institutional credibility, provides certainty for business
actors and investors, and ultimately encourages sustainable economic
growth,” he said. He added that various international institutions are
also maintaining a positive outlook on the Indonesian economy. In its
July 2026 edition of the World Economic Outlook, the International
Monetary Fund (IMF) maintained its projection for Indonesia’s economic
growth at 5 percent in 2026.
