S. Kalimantan's pulp plant<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Local company PT Menara Hutan Buana (MHB) will
\nbuild a pulp-processing plant in South Kalimantan with an annual
\ncapacity of one million metric tons.<\/p>\n
The company's commissioner, Surachmadi Suratman said on
\nSaturday Menara Hutan Buana has acquired 268,585 hectares of
\nindustrial forest estates in the area to meet the capacity.<\/p>\n
The 268,585 hectares, Surachmadi said, are located in the
\ndistricts of Kintap, Sebamban, Teluk Kepayang, Riam Kiwa and
\nPamukan in the eastern part of South Kalimantan.<\/p>\n
Surachmadi told Antara that 86,200 hectares of the acquired
\nland has been cultivated since 1994. Of which 69,700 hectares are
\nplanted with Akasia Mangium trees and the remaining hectares
\nwith, among others, Meranti, Ulin, and Jabon, he added. (02)<\/p>",
