        "content": "<p>The remains of former Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu arrived at\nthe mourning residence in Puri Wira Bhakti Complex, Cikeas, Bogor.<\/p>\n<p>The remains arrived from Gatot Subroto Army Central Hospital around\n5:00 PM WIB, with family and relatives already present at the site.<\/p>\n<p>Mourners began reciting Quranic verses and prayers in front of the\ncoffin draped in the red and white flag.<\/p>\n<p>Ryamizard died at the age of 76 on Sunday, 31 May, passing away at\n2:03 PM WIB while receiving treatment at Gatot Subroto Army Central\nHospital.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Palembang, South Sumatra, on 21 April 1950, he concluded his\nmilitary service as Army Chief of Staff during the presidency of\nIndonesia\u2019s fifth leader, Megawati Soekarnoputri.<\/p>\n<p>He was also the son-in-law of Indonesia\u2019s sixth Vice President, Try\nSutrisno, while his father, Major General TNI Musanif Ryacudu, was a\nsenior military officer known for his close ties to Indonesia\u2019s first\nPresident, Sukarno.<\/p>\n<p>During President Joko Widodo\u2019s first term, Ryamizard was appointed\nDefence Minister. At the time, Widodo described him as a thoughtful and\ndemocratic military figure.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Brigadier General Rico Ricardo, Head of Information at\nthe Ministry of Defence\u2019s Secretariat, stated that the remains would be\nlaid to rest before burial.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018According to the family, the remains will be laid to rest at the\nmourning residence located at Puri Wira Bhakti Housing Estate 1\/1b,\nCikeas, Bogor,\u2019 he told reporters on Sunday, 31 May.<\/p>",
