Jakarta \u2014 Rustini Muhaimin Iskandar, head of the National Awakening\nWomen\u2019s Caucus (Perempuan Bangsa), visited and distributed assistance to\nresidents affected by a landslide disaster in Padasari Village, Tegal\nRegency, Central Java.<\/p>\n
Among those whom Rustini met and engaged in dialogue were the staff\nand residents of Al Adalah Islamic Boarding School as well as other\nevacuees.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am grateful to be able to visit the landslide disaster victims\nhere. They truly need support from all of us,\u201d Rustini said in a\nstatement in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to her, dialogue with the evacuees showed that most of\ntheir basic needs during the evacuation had been met. However, Rustini \u2014\nwife of Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin\nIskandar \u2014 said that what the evacuees most urgently need is permanent\nhousing.<\/p>\n
For this reason, she said the government, together with various\nstakeholders, is constructing temporary shelters for the affected\nresidents, with the target for the shelters to be ready for occupation\nin the near future.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor now, temporary shelters will be built. Hopefully, they can be\noccupied before Lebaran. The target is to have approximately 250\ntemporary shelter units completed by 15 March,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Rustini stated that the construction of these shelters would be\ncarried out in phases. Nevertheless, she expressed confidence that the\nprocess could proceed smoothly thanks to the cooperation of various\nstakeholders in the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cCertainly, construction will be phased. However, with the unity of\nthe regional government, the national parliament, the regional\nparliament, and all parties here, I am confident that Padasari can\nrecover soon,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, she also praised the unified approach of various parties\nin assisting disaster-affected residents. Rustini commended the regional\ngovernment, national parliament members, and Central Java regional\nparliament members for demonstrating strong solidarity in disaster\nresponse, particularly appreciating the presence of cadres from the\nNational Awakening Party (Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa, PKB).<\/p>\n
