Jakarta \u2014 Rustini Muhaimin Iskandar, head of the Women of the Nation\nDPP faction, distributed aid to a number of vulnerable persons and\nelderly individuals at the At Taubah Foundation in Karawang, West Java,\nto strengthen social solidarity within the community during the holy\nmonth of Ramadan.<\/p>\n
According to her, Ramadan is an appropriate moment to increase care\nfor one another, particularly for those who require attention and\nassistance.<\/p>\n
\u201cRamadan teaches us to not only increase personal worship, but also\nto expand social concern. We want to ensure that vulnerable persons and\nthe elderly also experience happiness and blessing in this holy month,\u201d\nsaid Rustini in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The wife of the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul\nMuhaimin Iskandar stated that providing attention to vulnerable groups\nmust continue to be strengthened because they are an important part of\nsocial life that must not be forgotten.<\/p>\n
\u201cOften we are preoccupied with our own affairs, yet around us there\nare still many siblings who are in need. This gesture of goodwill may\nnot be great in value, but we hope it can be a sign of affection that\nthey are not alone,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
For this reason, she hopes that activities such as this can\nstrengthen the value of togetherness whilst serving as a reminder that\nRamadan is not only about abstaining from food and drink, but also about\nbringing compassion and benefit to others.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want this Ramadan to be one full of meaning. When we are able to\nshare, however small it may be, that is where blessing will come to us\nall,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Rustini called upon all elements of society, particularly\nIndonesian women, to continue to foster the spirit of sharing and mutual\nassistance as a social force of the nation.<\/p>\n
