        "content": "<p>Russian Strike on Buses in Ukraine\u2019s Kramatorsk Kills 30<\/p>\n<p>Reporter<\/p>\n<p>October 8, 2026 | 05:54 pm<\/p>\n<p>TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Russian strike on two passenger buses in the\neastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk has killed at least 30 people and\nwounded 18 others, authorities said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>According to DW, the Donetsk regional prosecutor\u2019s office confirmed\nthe death toll following the attack on Telegram on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>What do we know about the attack?<\/p>\n<p>The regional governor\u2019s office reported the same figures and said\npublic transport services had been suspended.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Vadym Filashkin said Russian forces were deliberately\ntargeting civilian transport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor them, a bus with passengers is an attractive target precisely\nbecause one strike can kill as many people as possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussia deliberately disregards all conceivable rules of warfare and\nthe norms of international humanitarian law,\u201d he said. \u201cIt chooses\ntargets where it can cause the most pain to civilians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder such circumstances, we have no right to risk the lives of\npassengers and drivers,\u201d he said. \u201cThe safety of the residents of\nKramatorsk and Sloviansk is now above all else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier reports had put the death toll at 12, with 14 wounded.<\/p>\n<p>Why is Kramatorsk strategically important?<\/p>\n<p>Kramatorsk lies close to the front line in Ukraine\u2019s eastern Donetsk\nregion.
