        "content": "<p>Moscow (ANTARA) - Russia believes that several factors indicate the\nUnited States is seriously considering the use of nuclear weapons within\nthe military operations theatre in Europe, stated Andrey Belousov,\nAmbassador for Special Assignments for the Russian Ministry of Foreign\nAffairs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpeaking of this danger, it is impossible to ignore Washington\u2019s\npersistence in attempting to initiate discussions regarding Russia\u2019s\nnon-strategic nuclear weapons\u2014which, I emphasise once again, do not pose\na threat to US territory\u2014in various multilateral disarmament forums,\u201d\nBelousweg said in an interview with RT.<\/p>\n<p>According to the senior diplomat, this indicates that US military\nstrategists are seriously considering the possibility of using nuclear\nweapons in the European theatre of military operations.<\/p>\n<p>Belousov stated that Washington\u2019s efforts to push for discussions on\nRussia\u2019s non-strategic nuclear weapons are aimed at diverting attention\nfrom the dangers posed by US nuclear weaponry in Europe and the\ncountry\u2019s nuclear missile programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope Europe fully realises the danger of Washington\u2019s approach\ntowards the territories of its allies, which is purely practical in\nterms of military operational planning,\u201d Belousov remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the Pentagon announced that US Deputy Secretary of\nDefense for Policy, Elbridge Colby, had arrived in Europe to consult\nwith military and political leaders of allied nations and to promote the\nUS \u2018NATO 3.0\u2019 initiative.<\/p>",
