Russia offers scholarships<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The Russian government has announced its intention to
\noffer 20 scholarships for Indonesian students to study in Russia
\nevery year.<\/p>\n
\"At the moment, we have about 100 Indonesians studying in our
\ncountry, mostly through scholarships. Most of them are studying
\nmedicine or engineering,\" said deputy director of the
\ninternational education and cooperation division of Russia's
\nministry of education, Alexei V. Talonov, here on Monday.<\/p>\n
Talonov said the scholarships were worth between US$1,200 and
\n$2,200 per year. \"To acquire a bachelor's degree takes no more
\nthan three years, and, to gain a master's degree, an additional
\ntwo or three years,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Talonov was in Jakarta with a delegation of representatives of
\n14 universities in Russia who will hold a Russian Education Expo
\nfrom Nov. 30 to Dec. 1 at the Center of Russian Culture and
\nScience on Jl. Diponegoro No. 12 in Central Jakarta. --JP<\/p>",
