Russia eyes Sumatra for investment<\/p>\n
PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: The Russian government has promised to
\ninvest in various sectors in South Sumatra, Ambassador Mikhail M.
\nBely told the South Sumatra Governor Syahrial Oesman here.<\/p>\n
After touring Jambi and Riau to assess the prospects of
\ninvestment, Bely said that he would invite Russian investors to
\ncooperate in trade and economic development here.<\/p>\n
\"We will assess the possibility of cooperation with South
\nSumatra province in different sectors, such as trade, mining,
\nplantation and agriculture, as long as it is beneficial for the
\ntwo countries and the people,\" Bely was quoted by Antara as
\nsaying on Friday.<\/p>\n
Bely discussed with Syahrial about the business prospects in
\nSouth Sumatra and Syahrial explained the opportunity to invest in
\ncoal, oil and natural gas and agriculture.<\/p>\n
The governor has also offered incentives to investors who want
