        "content": "<p>Moscow (ANTARA) \u2013 Russia\u2019s Armed Forces have declared a ceasefire in\nKherson to prepare for a humanitarian operation in the Alyoshki area,\naccording to a statement by Russia\u2019s Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo prepare for a humanitarian operation near the settlement of\nAlyoshki, in the Kherson region, the Armed Forces of the Russian\nFederation have ceased fire in the Kherson sector and introduced a\nceasefire regime, effective from 04:00 Moscow time on 27 October 2026,\u201d\nthe statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Russia\u2019s Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defence\nMinister Valery Gerasimov announced that a ceasefire would be introduced\nand Russian forces would stop firing from 04:00 Moscow time on Tuesday.\nThe move was intended to ensure the safety of residents and the delivery\nof essential supplies.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday (26 October), the Ministry of Defence reported that units\nfrom the Dnepr group of forces were conducting daily engineering\nreconnaissance and clearing explosives and booby traps from the main\nroutes to Alyoshki.<\/p>\n<p>According to the ministry, for more than two years Ukraine has\nshelled roads and routes leading to Alyoshki every day, while\nextensively using drones to destroy any vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry also claimed that Ukrainian forces had used drones to\nlay mines remotely along routes to Alyoshki, disrupting civilian\nevacuations and obstructing deliveries of food, medicine and other\nessential goods.<\/p>\n<p>During the same period, engineering units from the Dnepr group of\nforces neutralised more than 300 explosive devices and mines, according\nto the Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n<p>Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia hoped Ukraine would\ncomply with the arrangements reached for the humanitarian operation.<\/p>\n<p>Peskov also said the ceasefire mechanism in Alyoshki could serve as a\nmodel for securing similar arrangements in other sectors of the special\nmilitary operation zone.<\/p>",
