        "content": "<p>The Rupiah exchange rate opened weaker on Monday morning, 8 June\n2026. In the domestic spot market, the Rupiah reached the level of\n18,129 per US Dollar, a decline compared to the previous trading close\non Friday, 5 June 2026, which stood at 18,036 per US Dollar.<\/p>\n<p>Simultaneously, the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) also opened in the\nred. By 09:16 WIB, the IHSG plummeted by 4 per cent to the 5,370 level.\nAs of 10:05 WIB, the index remained in negative territory with a decline\nof 2.8 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Ibrahim Assuaibi, Director of PT Traze Andalan Futures, assessed that\nthe Rupiah\u2019s weakness is influenced by global sentiments, such as the\nMiddle East conflict and the policy direction of the US Federal Reserve.\nDomestically, an increasing demand for dollars is expected to affect\nIndonesia\u2019s current account balance.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Ibrahim highlighted rising inflation in May and a\nnarrowing trade surplus. He also noted the impact of Moody\u2019s decision to\ndowngrade the debt outlook for Danantara Investment Management.<\/p>\n<p>Ibrahim predicts significant foreign capital outflows from the stock\nmarket today due to the falling Rupiah. \u201cThe decline of the Rupiah is\noccurring amidst investor anxiety regarding President Prabowo\u2019s\nextensive agenda, particularly concerning the free nutritious meal\nproject and the Red and White Village Cooperatives, and most\nimportantly, the increase in fuel subsidies,\u201d said Ibrahim.<\/p>",
