        "content": "<p>Rupiah revaluation<\/p>\n<p>From Media Indonesia<\/p>\n<p>To welcome the newly-elected President, Vice President and the<br>\nnew cabinet, I would like to suggest that the government through<br>\nthe Ministry of Finance revalue the rupiah from Rp 1,000 to Rp 1,<br>\nso if one U.S. dollar is now equal to Rp 9,000, after the<br>\nrevaluation one dollar would be equal to Rp 9, which I think is<br>\nquite proportional.<\/p>\n<p>The revaluation of the rupiah would not affect the prices of<br>\ngoods, and is meant not only to allow for easy, safe and<br>\npractical transactions (we wouldn&apos;t have to carry bundles of<br>\nmoney to settle a big deal), but also to enable us to dispense<br>\nwith talking in millions when these millions do not mean very<br>\nmuch.<\/p>\n<p>The highest denomination bank note would be only Rp 1,000,<br>\nwhich would be the equivalent of Rp 1,000,000 now.<\/p>\n<p>The future generation would then become acquainted with the<br>\nterm &quot;cent&quot; or, perhaps, &quot;penny&quot;.
