JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A rujak vendor with the initials ZS (50) on\nJalan Guji Baru, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, is suspected of indecently\nassaulting an elementary school student.<\/p>\n
As observed by Kompas.com at the location, the rujak cart that S\nusually uses for his daily trade was still in front of his house.<\/p>\n
However, his house, located in a residential area within an alley,\nappeared to be vacant.<\/p>\n
Soleh (48), one of the witnesses, said that ZS\u2019s house was raided by\na mob on Wednesday evening (May 13, 2026) at around 11:00 PM.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, in the middle of the night, it suddenly became very crowded in\nthe street, and people came out. Apparently, they said that the rujak\nvendor was arrested for indecently assaulting an elementary school\nstudent. One of his neighbors is also a victim,\u201d Soleh told Kompas.com\nat the location on Sunday (May 17, 2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cThey said that the victim was questioned and then told her family.\nFrom there, they came to his house. They said it had been happening for\na while,\u201d Soleh added.<\/p>\n
During the raid, residents shouted at the perpetrator because they\nwere angry about his immoral actions.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was very crowded, and people were angry. But they didn\u2019t\nphysically assault him; everyone was safe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Soleh also revealed that the perpetrator was known as a pious man and\nused to be a religious teacher for children in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, he is indeed a religious teacher, but it was in the past. It\nseems like he still does it now, but with fewer students. Most people\nknow him as a rujak vendor, but he still often participates in\nactivities at the mosque,\u201d Soleh said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs far as I know, this is the only victim, but they say there are\nothers too, but the residents here don\u2019t know who they are yet. The\nimportant thing is that he has been taken to the police,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
After being raided by residents, the perpetrator was then secured by\nthe local community leaders.<\/p>\n
The perpetrator was picked up by police officers and taken to the\nKebon Jeruk Police Station for further investigation.<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s family had already filed a police report at the West\nJakarta Metropolitan Police on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, before the evening incident (the raid), in the afternoon, the\nvictim and her parents had already filed a police report at the Polres.\nWe only secured him during the incident,\u201d Aqsha said to Kompas.com via\ntext message on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Aqsha also stated that the investigation and further handling of this\ncase have been handed over to the PPA-PPO Unit of the West Jakarta\nMetropolitan Police.<\/p>\n
