JAKARTA - A pile of rubbish at the temporary disposal site (TPS) in
UKA Complex, Uka Street, RT 02/RW 08, Koja, North Jakarta, has
overflowed, covering the road surface. Based on observations at the
location on Wednesday afternoon (1/4/2026), the rubbish was seen
scattered onto the street. Seven green rubbish carts, full and left
piled up in the TPS area, were also visible on site. Several residents
were observed disposing of rubbish there by throwing plastic bags full
of waste from atop vehicles. Passing residents covered their noses,
unable to tolerate the smell. Around the TPS, two yellow and white
banners were posted on the wall. Meanwhile, the white banner read,
“Attention to UKA Residents, the designated rubbish disposal time for
UKA residents is every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Strictly
prohibited to dispose of rubbish outside the specified schedule.” Lia
(35), a local resident, said the rubbish was last collected on Monday
(30/3/2026). “Yesterday was Monday when it was picked up, by Tuesday it
was full again until today Wednesday. They said the truck was coming but
it hasn’t arrived yet, it’s already a mess like this,” said Lia when met
by Kompas.com on Wednesday. According to Lia, the rubbish pile-up is
also triggered by outsiders dumping waste at the site, despite the
prohibition. Complaints were also voiced by Ahmad (39), a passing
motorist. He assessed that the rubbish mound was obstructing road
access.
",
