        "content": "<p>Rubber trade slows down<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (Reuter): Trading in the Singapore rubber market<br>\ndried up yesterday due to uncertainty over what will happen next<br>\nin Southeast Asia's volatile financial markets, dealers said.<\/p>\n<p>\"The currency problems in the region drove people out of the<br>\nmarket. The Indonesians are not keen to sell. If the currency<br>\nturmoil continues, it'll be a really thin market again tomorrow,\"<br>\na dealer said.<\/p>\n<p>The region has been pounded for weeks by speculative attacks<br>\non its currencies. The Thai baht was the first to devalue and the<br>\nlatest victim is the Indonesian rupiah.<\/p>\n<p>The only activity seen was in RSS3 rubber. All other rubber<br>\ngrades were untraded. \"What we had this afternoon were some<br>\npeople covering their shorts. That's it,\" a dealer said.<\/p>",
