These initiatives aim to provide a more flexible, relevant, and effective learning experience by recognising prior learning and delivering content in short, easily digestible formats, ultimately preparing students for the demands of the modern workforce.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Changes in learning styles are one of the
most tangible impacts of the rapid development of technology in the
digital era. In response to this need, Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), a
Digital Business Campus with the tagline “Turn Dreams into
Achievements”, is introducing innovative learning through the RPL
(Recognition of Prior Learning) Programme and adaptive microlearning for
Generation Z.

According to Arfhan Prasetyo, Head of the Informatics Study Programme
(S1), this approach is designed to provide a more flexible, relevant,
and appropriate learning experience for today’s students.

“The RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) Programme allows students to
receive recognition for their previous learning experiences, whether
from formal, non-formal education, or work experience,” he said, quoted
on Friday (15 May 2026).

Meanwhile, microlearning, he said, presents learning material in a
short, concise, and easy-to-understand format. The combination of these
two methods can improve the effectiveness of the learning process.

“Students are not only required to understand theory, but also to
develop competencies based on real-world experience. This also addresses
the challenges of an increasingly dynamic and skills-based working
world,” he explained.

UNM also encourages students to learn from various sources, not
limited to the classroom. Learning is expanded through practical
experience, projects, and independent exploration relevant to industry
needs.

Arfhan added that this approach emphasises competency outcomes rather
than just the formal process. “Learning does not always have to be in
the classroom. What is important is the competencies possessed and how
to develop them,” he said.

With this innovation, UNM continues to adapt to the changing times
and the needs of young people. Students gain a more meaningful,
flexible, and focused learning experience to face the world of work.

For prospective students who want to experience a modern and
industry-relevant learning system, it is time to join UNM and realise
your future now.
",
