        "content": "<p>RP, Vanuatu to boost ties<\/p>\n<p>MANILA (AFP): Vanuatu Prime Minister Maxime Carlote Korman and<br>\nPhilippine President Fidel Ramos agreed yesterday to strengthen<br>\nbilateral trade ties, the Filipino leader said after meeting his<br>\nSouth Pacific counterpart.<\/p>\n<p>At a luncheon held in honor of Korman, Ramos said<br>\nopportunities existed \"for joint-venture arrangements in<br>\nfisheries and other industries.\"<\/p>\n<p>Manila \"would be most pleased to consider Vanuatu as a source<br>\nof some of its requirements like timber,\" Ramos added.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Manila \"would be honored to assist Vanuatu in<br>\nits training needs,\" through the Technical Cooperation Council of<br>\nthe Philippines.<\/p>\n<p>Korman was in Manila to attend the Asia-Pacific Leaders<br>\nConference on Climate Change which ended yesterday.<\/p>",
