        "content": "<p>RP rebels seize two villages<\/p>\n<p>ZAMBOANGA, Philippines (AFP): Separatist guerrillas have<br>\nseized control of two southern Philippine villages and are<br>\nextorting money from motorists, a military spokesman said on<br>\nTuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The southern Philippines military command has ordered the Moro<br>\nIslamic Liberation Front (MILF) to dismantle outposts and<br>\nroadblocks near the town of Kauswagan, spokesman Col. Horacio<br>\nLapinid told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>The MILF, engaged in peace talks with the government, set up a<br>\ndetachment and roadblocks in the villages of Inudaran and Paiton<br>\non Sunday manned by about 40 guerrillas, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Peace talks between Manila and the MILF were deadlocked last<br>\nweek when the government refused an MILF demand that it recognize<br>\n46 guerrilla-held areas, including its camp in Buldon.<\/p>\n<p>However, the MILF leadership later helped negotiate with<br>\nbandits for the release on Monday of kidnapped Italian priest<br>\nLuciano Benedetti after 68 days held hostage by the bandits.<\/p>",
