        "content": "<p>RP considers IT zone<\/p>\n<p>MANILA (AP): The Philippine government is considering the<br>\nestablishment of a special economic zone, primarily for<br>\ninformation technology companies, within a 64-hectare (158-acre)<br>\nsite at Fort Bonifacio, a former military camp near Manila&apos;s<br>\nfinancial district of Makati.<\/p>\n<p>This was disclosed Wednesday by Rogelio Singson, chairman of<br>\nthe government&apos;s Bases Conversion Development Authority.<\/p>\n<p>The authority, along with a consortium led by local holding<br>\nconcern Metro Pacific Corp., is developing 214 hectares (528<br>\nacres) of the 440-hectare (1,086-acre) Fort Bonifacio into a<br>\ncorporate city.<\/p>\n<p>Singson said President Joseph Estrada has already ordered a<br>\nstudy of various ways of maximizing the benefits of the 64-<br>\nhectare (158-acre) area inside the military complex.<\/p>",
