        "content": "<p>RP and China decrease heat<\/p>\n<p>MANILA (AFP): The Philippines and China have agreed to ease<br>\ntension in their dispute over portions of the South China Sea,<br>\nPhilippine Foreign Secretary Domingo Siazon said here yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\"The report is they agreed to lower the temperature,\" Siazon<br>\nsaid, after a meeting last week between deputy foreign ministers<br>\nof both countries on the conflicting claims to the Spratly<br>\nislands and Scarborough shoal claimed by both countries.<\/p>\n<p>Siazon said this would include an agreement by both sides to<br>\ninform the other of major ship movements near the disputed areas.<\/p>\n<p>He said relations with China were normal except for the issue<br>\nof the disputed territories. Siazon noted that Chinese officials,<br>\nincluding Chinese Vice Premier Li Lanqing, have been meeting<br>\ncordially with Philippine officials even while the dispute raged.<\/p>",
