Rp 10b fund questioned<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): City Council questioned on Thursday the use of
\nRp 10 billion (US$1.1 million) which was allocated for 10
\nhectares of land for a low-cost apartment building in Marunda,
\nNorth Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Councillor Muhayar of Council Commission D for public works,
\ndevelopment and environmental affairs said the council found that
\nthe funds, which were taken from the 2001 city budget, was used
\nto build another apartment building in Penjaringan, also in North
\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
\"We see irregularities here. The administration, especially
\nthe North Jakarta Mayoralty, should explain this,\" Muhayar of the
\nJustice Party said.<\/p>\n
He said the council was suspicious because the city
\nadministration had built a low-cost apartment building in the
\nPenjaringan area.<\/p>\n
He revealed that the current budget had also allocated Rp 4.5
\nbillion to extend the Penjaringan apartment building.<\/p>\n
He said the current budget allocated Rp 62 billion for the
\ndevelopment of some low-cost apartments, including in Petamburan,
\nCentral Jakarta, Cawang, East Jakarta and Marunda. (jun)<\/p>",
