        "content": "<p>Rp 100b allocated for water works<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The central government has allocated Rp 100 billion<br>\n(US$11.76 million) to repair water infrastructure in Greater<br>\nJakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The project, which will start this year, is held by the<br>\nDevelopment Project for the Ciliwung and Cisadane Rivers<br>\n(PIPWSC), a task force under the authority of the Ministry of<br>\nSettlement and Regional Infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Top man of the task force Wahyu Hartomo said in a statement<br>\nmade available on Wednesday that the team would construct the<br>\nEast Flood Canal, several flood gates and coastal barriers, as<br>\nwell as developing a water management system in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>The projects include dredging the Cengkareng Drain and<br>\nMookervart River, rehabilitation of a section of the Ciliwung<br>\nriverbank in Katulampa, Bogor, dredging and reconstruction of the<br>\nWest Flood Canal, Bekasi River and Ancol sluice gate, as well as<br>\nrehabilitation of the Tanjungan River.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the next stage in construction of the East Flood<br>\nCanal would cost Rp 77.8 billion.
