        "content": "<p>Moscow (ANTARA) - The Chief Executive Officer of Rosatom, Russia\u2019s\nstate-owned nuclear company, met with Indonesian President Prabowo\nSubianto in Jakarta on Tuesday (12\/5) to discuss opportunities for\ncooperation in utilising nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn Tuesday (12\/5), Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the Rosatom\nState Corporation, during a working visit to the Republic of Indonesia,\nheld a meeting with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo\nSubianto. The parties discussed the potential for Russia-Indonesia\ncooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, including the\ndevelopment of nuclear power plant (NPP) projects, nuclear\ninfrastructure, personnel training, and non-energy applications of\nnuclear technology,\u201d Rosatom stated in its announcement.<\/p>\n<p>The nuclear company also expressed its readiness to offer Indonesia a\ncomprehensive approach to developing the national nuclear programme,\nranging from large-scale NPP development to projects involving small\nmodular reactors and floating power plant installations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are ready to offer Indonesia maximum localisation of technology\nprocesses at the NPP construction stage through to the maintenance\nstage,\u201d Likhachev said after meeting President Prabowo.<\/p>\n<p>Floating NPPs, he added, can be built taking into account Indonesia\u2019s\nlong coastline and islands in its archipelago region.<\/p>\n<p>Likhachev further noted that Indonesia already has research nuclear\nreactors and expertise in nuclear medicine, with many young\nprofessionals in the nuclear field who have studied in Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia also plans to develop nuclear power capacity to reach 500\nmegawatts in the early 2030s, then 7-8 gigawatts in the 2040s, and 35-37\ngigawatts in the 2060s, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat means we cannot do it without the help of large power plants\nwith capacities of 1,000 megawatts and 1,200 megawatts.
