Rohto's expansion in RI<\/p>\n
TOKYO (Reuter): Rohto Pharmaceutical Co Ltd said on Wednesday
\nthat it would expand its business in Indonesia and China.<\/p>\n
In Indonesia, Rohto will set up PT Rohto Laboratories
\nIndonesia with the Gemala Group of Indonesia, Rohto said in a
\nstatement.<\/p>\n
The venture, capitalized at about 200 million yen, will be
\nowned 60 percent by Rohto and 40 percent by Gemala. It will be
\nheadquartered in Jakarta but a plant will be set up about 170 km
\nsoutheast of the Indonesian capital, it said.<\/p>\n
The venture will replace production and sales of eye drops by
\nan Indonesian state-owned company, Rohto said. The state firm has
\nbeen making and selling eye drops under a license pact with
\nRohto.<\/p>\n
The venture will also make and sell lenses for use in
\noperations for cataract patients.<\/p>\n
Sales of eye drops, to start by the end of this year, are
\nexpected to total 200 million yen in the initial year, Rohto
\nsaid. Sales of lenses, also to begin by the end of this year, are
\nalso expected at 200 million yen in the initial year.<\/p>",
