I Made Yudi Mahardika, Sp.OT, speaking at\nthe Orthovolution 2026 Symposium in Jakarta on Saturday, stated that\nrobotic technology serves as an aid for doctors to perform procedures\nwith a higher level of accuracy compared to conventional methods. \u201cIt is\nnot the robot performing the work for us, but rather the doctor being\nfacilitated by technology to make more precise incisions. Since every\npatient\u2019s anatomy varies, this technology assists with adjustments\nduring surgery,\u201d said Yarkan.<\/p>\n<p>Through this mapping, medical teams can adjust the position and\nmovement of implants to closely mimic the natural function of the\npatient\u2019s knee.<\/p>\n<p>Professor of Orthopaedics, Prof.\u00a0Dr.\u00a0dr. Andri Lubis, Sp.OT (K),\nnoted that the success of joint replacement surgery is determined not\nonly by technology but also by the collaboration of various disciplines,\nranging from anaesthesia to medical rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<p>Anaesthesiologist dr. Fransisca Dewi Kumala, Sp.An, added that the\nimplementation of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol\nalso plays a role in accelerating post-operative recovery. According to\nher, this approach includes pain management through a combination of\nvarious types of medication and nerve block techniques, allowing\npatients to move more quickly after the procedure.<\/p>\n<p>Knee osteoarthritis is one of the primary causes of decreased\nmobility in the elderly. In severe cases that no longer respond to\nconservative therapy, knee joint replacement can be a viable treatment\noption.<\/p>\n<p>Experts assess that developments in surgical technology, including\nthe use of robotic systems, have the potential to support procedural\naccuracy and improve patient comfort.
