Robbery attempt foiled<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Five hooded men broke into the house of Maman, a
\nresident of the Cijeruk district, Bogor, yesterday while he and
\nmembers of his family were preparing to have the 'saur' (pre-dawn)
\nmeal for their fast.<\/p>\n
The uninvited guests threatened Maman at knife point,
\ndemanding that he hand over his belongings, including a certain
\namount of cash. But Maman put up brave resistance in the heavily
\none sided fight, Antara reported.<\/p>\n
Maman was severely injured, but he did not give up fighting.<\/p>\n
Other members of the family were unable to help Maman because
\nthe robbers had threatened to kill them. But the robbers could
\nnot prevent Maman's wife from screaming for help.<\/p>\n
Alerted by the screams, a number their neighbors rushed to
\nMaman's house. Upon seeing the crowd, the five robbers escaped
\nthrough the back door, giving up their intention to rob Maman.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the crowd, the robbers failed in their attempt to
\nsteal Maman's possessions.<\/p>\n
While Maman did not suffer any material losses, he was badly
\nwounded and taken immediately to a nearby hospital by his
