On Nov. 6, 1994 at about 10 p.m. on our way to Cinere, South
\nJakarta by car we were stopped by a man dressed in a police
\nuniform. We pulled over to the side of the road, believing we may
\nhave violated a traffic regulation. Still on his motorcycle, the
\n\"policeman\" asked me to hand over the vehicle documents. Since we
\ndidn't know what we'd done wrong we refused to produce the
\ndocuments and instead asked for an explanation.<\/p>\n
The \"policeman\" then aimed his pistol at my temple and grabbed
\nthe car ignition key. We realized just then that we were being
\nrobbed and, as we felt helpless, we surrendered everything he
\nwanted. We tried to contain ourselves and with a quick glance we
\nnoted the number of the motorcycle -- B 5443 FI.<\/p>\n
We were disappointed that nobody seemed to pay any attention
\nat what was happening to us. When we reported the incident to the
\nPolice Office in Cilandak we were surprised to learn that similar
\ncases often take place in that area. Another victim was also
\nreporting a similar crime in the same area. I want to warn other
\nmotorists to be alert when passing the area.<\/p>\n
