Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, has\nrequested the Public Works Department to widen road access around the\nLatumeten flyover project in Grogol, West Jakarta, to address traffic\ncongestion in the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have now asked the Public Works Department to widen the access so\nthat the closed road can be reopened,\u201d Pramono said when met in South\nJakarta, Thursday.<\/p>\n
By reopening the previously closed lane and making it wider, Pramono\nbelieves that traffic around the flyover project can flow more\nsmoothly.<\/p>\n
According to Pramono, the construction of the flyover is still\nimportant to address the frequent congestion that occurs in the\nlocation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Latumeten flyover is indeed intended to reduce congestion there.\nHopefully, in the near future, the construction of this Latumeten will\nnot cause even more severe congestion,\u201d said Pramono.<\/p>\n
This was also highlighted by a member of the Jakarta DPRD from the\nPDI Perjuangan faction, Hardiyanto Kenneth, who immediately went to the\nlocation after receiving reports from residents.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany residents have complained to me. This construction process is\ncausing extraordinary traffic jams,\u201d said Kenneth.<\/p>\n
During the inspection, he found that Jalan Latumeten, which\npreviously had three lanes, now only has one active lane. This condition\ncauses queues of vehicles, especially in the mornings and evenings.<\/p>\n
