        "content": "<p>Public prosecutors have demanded a prison sentence of 14 years for\nBrigadier Rizka Sintiyani in connection with the death of her husband,\nBrigadier Esco Faska Rely. \u201cSentencing the defendant to imprisonment for\n14 years, reduced by the time the defendant has spent in detention,\u201d\nstated prosecutor Muthmainnah at the Mataram District Court on Tuesday\nevening (9\/6\/2026). In her demand, Muthmainnah stated that Rizka was\nproven to have abused Esco, resulting in his death, based on Article 44\nparagraph (3) of Law No.\u00a023 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of\nDomestic Violence, in conjunction with Article No.\u00a038 of the first\nappendix to Law No.\u00a01 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments.\n\u201cDeclaring the defendant Rizka guilty of committing the criminal act of\nphysical violence within the domestic sphere resulting in the death of\nthe victim Esco Faska Rely, as per the prosecutor\u2019s first charge,\u201d she\nsaid. In the demand, the public prosecutor also considered aggravating\nand mitigating factors. The aggravating factor is that the defendant is\na law enforcement officer. \u201cThe defendant did not admit her actions and\nprovided convoluted testimony during the trial,\u201d the prosecutor noted.\nThe mitigating factors cited were that Rizka has two young children who\nneed a mother figure, and that she has no prior criminal record. Rizka\nis a defendant in this case alongside four others: Siaun, Nuraini,\nPaozi, and Dani Rifkan. Brigadier Esco was found dead in a shocking\nstate in the garden behind his house in Nyiur Lembang Hamlet, Jembatan\nGantung Village, Lembar District, West Lombok, on 24 August last year.\nThe intelligence officer from Sekotong Police Station was first\ndiscovered by Saiun. At that time, Brigadier Esco\u2019s body was in an\nadvanced state of decomposition, with a severely damaged face and a rope\ntied around his neck under a tree. Initially, the discovery of the body\nwas suspected to be a case of suicide by hanging. However, based on the\nresults of the inquiry and investigation, the West Lombok Police\nsubsequently named five people as suspects.
