Digital forensics expert Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar is facing a new\ndevelopment stemming from the issue of alleged fake diplomas of\nIndonesia\u2019s seventh President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).<\/p>\n
Still holding suspect status despite applying for restorative\njustice, Rismon now faces the threat of being reported after being said\nto have accused former Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) of being behind\nthe issue.<\/p>\n
JK\u2019s camp suddenly held a press conference on Sunday (5\/4) to refute\nthe claim. According to JK, he is now being accused of funding the\nJokowi diploma issue to the tune of Rp5 billion.<\/p>\n
\u201cI say that is definitely and certainly not true,\u201d said JK during the\npress conference at his residence in Jakarta on Sunday (5\/4).<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, JK did not mention the party in question. However, JK\nemphasised that he would report the accusation to the National Police\u2019s\nCriminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) on Monday (6\/4) today\nfor alleged defamation.<\/p>\n
He also clarified his meeting with several academics at his residence\nduring Ramadan on 15 March. According to him, the meeting only discussed\nthe state of the nation, not related to the Jokowi diploma issue.<\/p>\n
Some of the names present at the meeting included Prof Djohermansyah,\nProf Irfan Ridwan Maksum (UI), Prof Aditya Perdana (FISIP UI), Prof\nAhmad Fairuz, Lili Romli (BRIN), Prof Hanif (UT), Prof Trubus\n(Trisakti), and Prof Mulyadi (BRIN).<\/p>\n
\u201cThat discussion was open, completely open. It was just advice on\npolicies and that was for Mr President (Prabowo). Yes, Mr President\n(Prabowo),\u201d said Jusuf Kalla.<\/p>\n
In response to JK\u2019s plan to file a report, Rismon\u2019s lawyer, Jahmada\nGirsang, denied that his client accused JK of being behind the Jokowi\ndiploma issue. According to Jahmada, the video clip circulating on\nsocial media is the result of Artificial Intelligence (AI)\nmanipulation.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, Jahmada did not reveal his client\u2019s statement in\nquestion.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was all AI processing, Rismon never mentioned Mr JK\u2019s name,\u201d he\ntold reporters on Sunday (5\/4).<\/p>\n
According to Jahmada, the statement contested by JK is a hoax. He\nalso declined to comment on JK\u2019s plan to report Rismon.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust let it be for now, it\u2019s not that easy to make a report, then\nthe initial evidence submitted will be examined in the SPKT,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Rismon is one of eight suspects in the alleged defamation behind the\nJokowi diploma issue. Recently, he followed in the footsteps of his\ncolleagues Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis by applying for restorative\njustice and apologising.<\/p>\n
Like Eggi and Damai, Rismon also visited Jokowi\u2019s residence in\nSumber. After the visit, he conveyed an apology to Jokowi.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course I apologise to the public, especially to the relevant\nparties like Mr Joko Widodo,\u201d said Rismon after the meeting.<\/p>\n
Most recently, the complainant officially stated that they would not\npursue the case against Rismon in the jurisdiction of the Metro Jaya\nPolice.
