        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Dr.\u00a0Richard Lee, a physician and owner of a\nbeauty clinic, skipped two mandatory police reporting obligations before\nhis arrest. He is a suspect in a case of violation of consumer\nprotection related to his cosmetic products. \u2018The suspect also failed to\nreport for the obligation on Monday, 23 February 2026 and Thursday, 5\nMarch 2026 without a clear reason,\u2019 said Public Relations Head of the\nMetro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, contacted by\nKompas.com on Friday, 6 March 2026. Budi said Richard also failed to\nappear for a further examination on 3 March without a clear reason.\nHowever, Richard was caught livestreaming on his TikTok account. \u2018The\nsuspect did not attend the additional examination without giving a clear\nexplanation, and was found to be livestreaming on TikTok,\u2019 explained\nBudi. Therefore, after completing the examination on Friday afternoon,\nRichard was detained because he was considered to have obstructed the\ninvestigation. \u2018The suspect DRL was detained at 21:50 at the Metro Jaya\nPolice detention house,\u2019 said Budi. Before detention, Richard was\nconfirmed to be in good health and did not carry any personal\nbelongings. Richard was named a suspect in the case of violation of\nconsumer protection laws relating to beauty products and services. He\nwas reported to be a beauty doctor, Samira or known as Doctor Detective\nby the Metro Jaya Police. The report is registered\nLP\/B\/7317\/XII\/2024\/SPKT Polda Metro Jaya. The case is now at the\ninvestigation stage. Richard faces Article 455 in conjunction with\nArticle 138(2) of Law No.\u00a017 of 2023 on Health. He faces a maximum\npenalty of 12 years in prison or a maximum fine of Rp5 billion. In\naddition, Article 62(1) in conjunction with Article 8(1) and\/or Article\n9(1) Law No.\u00a08 of 1999 on Consumer Protection, with a maximum\nimprisonment of 5 years and a maximum fine of Rp2 billion.
