        "content": "<p>The Riau Regional Police have deployed a team to provide trauma\nhealing support to a 23-year-old female student with initials F who was\nstabbed ahead of her thesis examination at Sultan Syarief Kasim Islamic\nState University (UIN Suska). This action was taken as a demonstration\nof concern and commitment from the Riau Police in providing protection\nto victims of violence.<\/p>\n<p>The Psychology Department of the Human Resources Bureau of Riau\nPolice dispatched a team to provide psychological support (trauma\nhealing) to the victim and family at Arifin Achmad Hospital on Saturday\nat 11:00 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Psychology at the Human Resources Bureau of Riau Police,\nSenior Commissioner Winarko, stated that this support aims to ensure the\nrecovery process proceeds optimally, enabling the victim to gradually\nresume academic and social activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis forms part of the commitment of Riau Police personnel in\ndelivering humanitarian, professional and precise services, in line with\nthe spirit of Indonesian National Police personnel who are superior and\nprecise in providing protection not only legally, but also from the\nperspective of humanity and psychological recovery of victims,\u201d Winarko\nsaid in his statement on Saturday (28\/2\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The support was provided directly by the Head of Psychology of the\nHuman Resources Bureau of Riau Police, Senior Commissioner Winarko, a\npsychologist, and staff members. During the activity, the team provided\npsychological support using the PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)\nmethod as an initial approach to identify and address symptoms of trauma\nfollowing the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The PTSD method was applied to help the victim manage emotional\nresponses resulting from the violent incident. This includes reducing\nanxiety and fear, as well as managing intrusive thoughts about the\nevent. The approach focuses on rebuilding a sense of safety and\nself-confidence, whilst strengthening family support as the primary\nsupport system during the recovery process.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the victim, the psychology team also provided\neducation and emotional support to the family to enable them to\nunderstand potential psychological impacts and to identify appropriate\nsteps in supporting the victim during recovery.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect, a male with initials R (21), has been designated as a\nsuspect following the stabbing of the female student, F (23). R is\ncurrently being detained at Pekanbaru Police Station.<\/p>\n<p>The Police Chief of Pekanbaru, Brigadier General Muharman Arta,\nstated that the investigation of this case has been transferred to\nPekanbaru Police Station, given the public attention the incident has\nattracted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect has also been transferred and is detained at Pekanbaru\nPolice Station detention facility,\u201d said Brigadier General Muharman in\nPekanbaru on Friday (27\/2).<\/p>\n<p>Muharman revealed that the motive for the stabbing was rooted in\nromantic disputes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe motive is currently a romantic dispute, according to the\nsuspect\u2019s confession,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The stabbing incident occurred on the second floor of the Faculty of\nSharia and Islamic Law at UIN Suska on Thursday morning (26\/2). The\nvictim was awaiting the start of her thesis examination when she was\nsuddenly stabbed by the perpetrator, who is also a student.<\/p>",
