        "content": "<p>The nationwide corn harvest was held simultaneously across the\ncountry, spearheaded by President Prabowo Subianto and National Police\nChief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, with the main event taking place in\nTuban, East Java, on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The Riau Police\nparticipated in the corn harvest event virtually from Pekanbaru City,\nRiau.<\/p>\n<p>The series of activities included the symbolic handover of corn sales\nproceeds to Perum Bulog Riau-Kepri, the awarding of certificates to\nlandowners, the distribution of social assistance to farmer groups, a\nsymbolic joint harvest with the President of the Republic of Indonesia,\nand a visit to the liquid fertilizer booth owned by THH Polda Riau.<\/p>\n<p>Riau Police Chief Inspector General Pol Herry Heryawan, through the\nDeputy Chief of Riau Police, Brigadier General Pol Hengki Haryadi,\naffirmed that the police not only play a role in maintaining security\nbut also act as a driving force in maintaining national food\nsecurity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe police are present to assist farmers, ensure price stability,\nand support the distribution of harvests to improve the welfare of the\ncommunity,\u201d said Brigadier General Hengki.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, Brigadier General Hengki stated that the Riau Police,\ntogether with fostered farmer groups, had planted corn on 1,690.37\nhectares of land out of a potential 7,355.29 hectares throughout 2025.\nThis year, the Riau Police aims to optimize the use of all potential\nland through strengthened synergy with the regional government, the\nmilitary, and the community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intercropping Pattern<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the strategic steps being promoted is the development of an\nintercropping pattern on 2,000 hectares of oil palm plantations to\nexpand the productive planting area.<\/p>\n<p>In this harvest, 3.8 hectares of land owned by Mr.\u00a0Kahar, a farmer\nfostered by the Pekanbaru Police, is estimated to produce 26.6 tons of\ncorn.
