The exercise involved all Riau\nRegional Police personnel, including Police Chief Inspector General\nHerry Heryawan and senior officials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis examination was carried out not only on regular personnel but\nalso on all senior officials, including the Police Chief,\u201d said Head of\nPublic Relations for Riau Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Zahwani\nPandra Arsyad, speaking to journalists at Riau Police Headquarters on\nMonday (23\/2\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Pandra stated that the examination reflects Riau Regional Police\u2019s\ncommitment to maintaining a drug-free institution. Approximately 3,000\npersonnel were tested.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot all results are in yet. However, the results for the Police\nChief and senior officials have come through, and all tested negative,\u201d\nPandra added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Errant Personnel Will Face Firm Action<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Previously, Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan said the\nmeasure was undertaken as a form of internal oversight. He stressed that\nthere would be no tolerance for anyone found to be involved in narcotics\nabuse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no mercy for Riau Regional Police personnel who are proven\nto be users. Even mere users, if proven, will face strict sanctions in\naccordance with regulations \u2014 let alone those involved in narcotics\ntransactions,\u201d said Inspector General Herry Heryawan.<\/p>\n<p>The Riau Police Chief emphasised that before taking action against\nthe public, the police institution must first ensure its own internal\ncondition is clean and free from drugs.<\/p>\n<p>The urine examination was closely supervised by the Professional and\nSecurity Division (Propam) and the medical team from the Medical and\nHealth Division (Biddokkes) of Riau Regional Police.<\/p>\n<p>The Police Chief again reminded personnel not to commit violations\nthat could tarnish the institution. Riau Regional Police will show no\ntolerance for personnel who are involved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose proven to have committed violations or crimes, or who have\njoined criminal syndicates \u2014 especially narcotics \u2014 will receive no\nmercy.
