        "content": "<p>Riau, Kalimantan get National parks<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The Ministry of Forestry has converted a huge<br>\nforestry area in Riau and a large area of natural forest in West<br>\nKalimantan into a national park.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Djamaludin Suryohadikusumo declared in two separate<br>\ndecrees that an 800,000 hectare area, known as the Bentuang<br>\nKarimun natural forest in West Kalimantan, and a 127,698 hectare<br>\narea covering forests in the Indragiri Hulu and Indragiri Hilir<br>\nregencies in Riau, will now have national park status.<\/p>\n<p>The first has been named Bentuang Karimun National Park and<br>\nthe second Bukit Tiga Puluh National Park.<\/p>\n<p>The decisions were taken for the park's many animal and plant<br>\nspecies that need protection, including rhinos, elephants,<br>\norangutans and rare rattans.
