Riau councillor gets terror scare<\/p>\n

Two unidentified men on a Yamaha RX-King motorcycle hurled a
\nMolotov cocktail at the Jl. Sumatera official residence of Riau
\nLegislative Council deputy speaker Djuharman Arifin at 2:15 a.m.
\non Thursday.<\/p>\n
A security guard at the official residence of Zamzibar Nong,
\nanother deputy council speaker, which is located across from
\nDjuharman's house but separated by Jl. Tembelan.<\/p>\n
"I saw two men on a motorcycle stop on Jl. Tembelan behind the
\nguard post of Djuharman's house at around 2 a.m. One of them
\nappeared to read a text message on his cell phone. I became
\nsuspicious because they were taking so long. I wanted to ask them
\nwhat they were doing, but they left before I went out," the
\nsecurity guard, Dharmansyah, said.<\/p>\n
Minutes after, he added, the two men returned, this time
\nstopping in front of Djuharman's house. "I then heard something
\ndrop and explode, and the motorcycle fled at high speed toward
\nJl. Sumatera," Dharmansyah said.<\/p>\n
He ran to Djuharman's house to alert those there.<\/p>\n
"I immediately ran to wake up the security guard there, but
\nthe gates were locked," said Dharmansyah.<\/p>\n
The security guard quickly doused the flames threatening to
\nengulf the councillor's official Corolla sedan.<\/p>\n
The case is being investigated by Pekanbaru Police, said
\nDjuharman of the National Mandate Party (PAN).<\/p>\n
"The police came last night, but I will give them information
\ntoday," he said.<\/p>\n
He said the incident was believed to be linked to his
\npolitical activities of the past few days. He declined to
\nelaborate.<\/p>\n
After the incident, the Riau legislative council officially
\nrequested protection for its members from Pekanbaru Police.<\/p>",
