        "content": "<p>Riau allocates Rp 70b for small firms<\/p>\n<p>PEKANBARU, Riau: Riau Governor Saleh Djasit said that the<br>\nprovincial administration had allocated Rp 70 billion in<br>\nfinancial assistance for small- and medium-scale companies in the<br>\nprovince.<\/p>\n<p>\"The funds are distributed through banks and their recipients<br>\nare to be selected from village cooperatives, small- and medium-<br>\nscale enterprises in rural areas that have the potential to<br>\naccelerate the province's economic development program,\" he said<br>\nin the closing ceremony of a sewing training program organized by<br>\nthe Selasih Foundation here on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The governor also appreciated the foundation's training<br>\nprograms to improve the quality of human resources and to help<br>\nhome industries in the province's rural areas.<\/p>\n<p>\"The development of small- and medium-scale enterprises is a<br>\ntask that has to be done not only by the provincial<br>\nadministration but also by the private sector and large<br>\ncompanies.
