RI worker may face hanging in KL<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: An Indonesian migrant worker could be sentenced to
\ndeath by hanging in Kuala Lumpur if a court there finds him
\nguilty of killing Malaysian Elizabeth Wong Oi Chon, 47, a non-
\ngovernmental organization (NGO) reported on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Hasanuddin Sinring, 22, born in Bugis in South Sulawesi, was
\ncharged along with two Filipino suspects with violating Article
\n302 of Malaysia's Penal Code over the murder of Chon.<\/p>\n
The NGO, Migrant Care, did not state the motive for the
\nkilling that took place on Oct. 31 last year.<\/p>\n
On Feb. 26, the Magistrate Court ruled that the case of
\nHasanuddin -- who worked for a Sabah-based transportation firm,
\nCanton Transportation -- be brought before the High Court, the
\norganization said. During his trials, the suspect has been
\nrepresented by Malaysian lawyer Razak Alimin.<\/p>\n
Migrant Care urged the Indonesian government to be proactive
\nin providing defense assistance for Hasanuddin, so as to ensure a
