        "content": "<p>RI top big spender in S'pore<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (DPA): Japanese visitors top the list of big<br>\nspenders in Singapore, snapping up watches, fashion and jewelry<br>\nwith Indonesians right behind, a study showed on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesians accounted for 21 percent of all tourist-related<br>\nsales, 1 percent less than their Japanese counterparts. Indians<br>\nplaced third, but far behind with their spending accounting for 6<br>\npercent.<\/p>\n<p>Global Refund Singapore, the local office of a Sweden-based<br>\ncompany, conducted the study from January to April.<\/p>\n<p>\"The Japanese shoppers spent the most on fashion apparel,<br>\nfollowed by jewelry and watches,\" said managing director Asad<br>\nJumabhoy.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesian shoppers concentrated on the same three categories<br>\nbut spent most on watches, followed by fashion and jewelry.<\/p>\n<p>Indians went for gold. \"Indian shoppers value the quality and<br>\nrange of gold products and spent most at goldsmiths,\" Jumabhoy<br>\nnoted, followed by purchases in computer products and watches.<\/p>",
