Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia will host the 2nd Conference of Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) in Bali on January 28-February 1.<\/p>\n
\"President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is slated to open the conference,\" Director for Legal Affairs and International Agreement of the Foreign Ministry Eddy Pratomo said on Friday.<\/p>\n
He said more than 1,000 representatives from 140 countries consisting of 104 parties and 36 signatories as well as from international institutions and non-governmental organizations would attend the meeting.<\/p>\n
\"The Indonesian delegation will among others consist of the minister of foreign affairs, minister for justice and human rights, police chief, chief of the anti-corruption body, head of the national development planning body and the attorney general,\" he said.<\/p>\n
He added the meeting would discuss four agendas, namely mechanism of reviewing convention, returning of ill-gotten assets, technical cooperation and corruption committed by public officials.<\/p>\n
He said several events would also be held on the occasion of the five-day conference, namely civil society forum, parliamentary forum, stolen asset recovery (SAR) workshop, business coalition and peer media forum.<\/p>\n
As a party to UNCAC and host of the conference, he said, Indonesia has coordinated with a number of relevant institutions and held dialogs with non-governmental organizations and the secretariat of the United Nations.<\/p>\n
\"And all the obligations as the host have been included in the Host Country Agreement signed by the Indonesian ambassador based in Vienna in July last year,\" he said.<\/p>\n
