Hakim, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>Textile and clothing producer countries from the developing world<br>\nwill meet in Bali in the first week of April to discuss trade<br>\nafter the elimination of the quota system, a senior official at<br>\nthe Ministry of Trade said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry&apos;s Director General for International Cooperation<br>\nPos M. Hutabarat said Indonesia would host the 41st International<br>\nTextile and Clothing Bureau (ITCB) council of representatives<br>\nmeeting.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 1984, ITCB is a group of governments from<br>\ndeveloping countries that produce and export textiles and<br>\nclothing.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;During the conference, country members will evaluate the<br>\nglobal textile and clothing trade in a world without quota<br>\nrestrictions,&quot; he told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>Pos said the ITCB would monitor trade barriers -- tariff and<br>\nnon-tariff -- imposed by industrialized countries and ensure that<br>\ndeveloping countries received non-discriminatory treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the ITCB would encourage and facilitate country<br>\nmembers to outsource raw materials such as yarn and fabrics from<br>\neach other, thus reducing capital goods dependency on the<br>\ndeveloped nations, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting is expected to come up with a communique as a<br>\nbasis for ITCB&apos;s future policies.<\/p>\n<p>ITCB members are Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, China,<br>\nColombia, Costa Rica, South Korea, Egypt, El Salvador, Guatemala,<br>\nHonduras, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, North Korea, Macao, the<br>\nMaldives, Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uruguay<br>\nand Vietnam.<\/p>",
