        "content": "<p>RI to host APEC construction conference<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Indonesia will host an international conference<br>\nfeaturing building design, construction, construction management<br>\nand building maintenance in Bali on March 27 and 28.<\/p>\n<p>Titled APEC Construction 2002, the conference will be attended<br>\nby some 300 participants from Asia-Pacific countries, including<br>\nJapan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia, and is<br>\nexpected to be opened by President Megawati Soekarnoputri.<\/p>\n<p>\"Indonesia will promote innovative construction design<br>\nsuitable for countries prone to natural disasters such as<br>\nearthquakes,\" conference organizing committee chairman Wiratman<br>\nWangsadinata said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The two-day conference, jointly organized by the Ministry of<br>\nSettlement and Regional Infrastructure, the Jakarta-based<br>\nTarumanegara University, the Surabaya-based Petra Christian<br>\nUniversity, the Bandung Institute of Technology, and the Asian<br>\nInstitute of Technology, will present about 70 papers delivered<br>\nby domestic and foreign experts. --JP<\/p>",
