RI to hold expo in Singapore<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): An exhibition organizing company is planning a
\nmajor investment promotion expo involving Indonesian state and
\nprivate companies in Singapore in September.<\/p>\n
Appronusa president Andi Djabir said on Wednesday that 160
\ncompanies are expected to take part in the Indonesian Investment
\nExhibition '99 at The Westin Stamford & Westin Plaza from Sept. 6
\nto 9.<\/p>\n
\"The exhibition is not intended as a product-selling show, but
\nis to introduce Indonesian companies seeking foreign partners to
\nhelp finance projects,\" Andi told reporters.<\/p>\n
Achmad Kurniadi, head of promotion and international
\ncooperation of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), said the
\ngovernment supported the Appronusa initiative in organizing the
\nexpo.<\/p>\n
Guests at the exhibition are selected companies from the
\nUnited States, Japan, Singapore and Europe that are individually
\ninvited, according to Appronusa.<\/p>\n
Foreign direct investment approved by BKPM fell by 60.7
\npercent to US$13.3 billion in 1998, according to official
