RI to attend South Summit<\/p>\n
INDONESIA: Indonesia will take part in the second South Summit of
\nthe Group of 77 (G77) and China in Doha, Qatar, from June 15 to
\nJune 17.<\/p>\n
Foreign Ministry spokesman Yuri Thamrin said the meeting would
\ndiscuss development issues and poverty eradication efforts, and
\nwould issue the measures with a plan of action. Foreign minister
\nHassan Wirayuda will represent President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono
\nin the summit.<\/p>\n
"The meeting will issue a document on the Havana Program of
\nAction, and the southern countries' strategy to eradicate poverty
\nand to increase the economic capacity in developing countries
\nthrough technical cooperation among the member countries," he
\nsaid on Friday.<\/p>\n
The Havana Program of Action, declared in the South summit in
\n2000, stresses the importance of further promoting South-South
\ncooperation in human resources, knowledge and technology,
\ncapacity building, finance, trade and investment.<\/p>\n
The G77 was established in June 15, 1964, by 77 developing
